There is something very eerie about this. The top of the picture is complete darkness yet the two lower corners are so overexposed the detail is almost completely washed out. Could there be a little hanky-panky going on here? Or perhaps a little photo-shoppee?

From the expression on the face I would say that the poor fellow was completely mortarified.
