President’s Report to the Board

July 13th, 2012
As of Friday, July 13th, there are a total of 253 registered voters, giving us an increase of 11 since last quarter and an increase of 42 since the July 2011 meeting. Which gets us to our goal of a 20% increase (42) by July 2012.
On June 8th, Arkgeo held our annual meeting at Daisy State Park. Attendance seemed a little down from years past, but there was a great turnout for a great event. Thank you for all who volunteered to help with this event and the CITO event and hot dog roast/campout that evening.
The ArkGeo web site still continues to perform well and once again I would like to thank Kevin Cackler for all his hard work keeping us going. It is much appreciated.
A great big Thanks to all of those who volunteer and spend some of their time promoting ArkGeo and geocaching in the state of Arkansas.

The election committee proceeded with the election of 2 new board members beginning on May 1st and ending on May 31st.
There were 3 candidates to choose from.

The ArkGeo coins arrived! They are still for sell. New t-shirts have been purchased and are available for sale.
The Fund Raising Committee members sold merchandise at the annual meeting.

The Community Relations Committee solicited door prizes for the Annual Event.

The Events Committee coordinated and planned the ArkGeo 2012 Annual Meeting, 4th Annual Hot Dog Roast and Campout, and ArkGeo 2012 CITO - Daisy State Park. Thanks to all of those who made these events possible.
There are two more ArkGeo events coming soon: 1) Burns Park Cache Bash IV and 2) Burns Park IV CITO. These events were adopted by Arkansas Geocachers Association.

ArkGeo Newsletter – The Membership Relations Committee reports that the ArkGeo Newsletter has a draft copy that was being looked at by several members of the Board and is being updated with current articles and information. As soon as the new information is received and placed in the newsletter, we should be ready to put it out on the web page. Many thanks go to new Board member Morgan O’Neal (drmo913) who has spent a lot time working on this newsletter.

II. Changing the ArkGeo Annual Event format - The Board sent this to the events committee for consideration. The board will post a poll on the website to get input from the membership about future Annual Event format.
III. ArkGeo History update - Wayne Lunsford is working on our written history.

Events -- Hold 2 "Eat & Greets" (one in the fall and one in the spring) by 6/15/13 in each of the following regions of the state:

VI. Michael Goff (Goff-family) added to the Events Committee
