Since I work weekends now I'm not able to attend the monthly expeditions and events. I really miss going to those!! I'm on spring break the last week of March (24th through 29th) and am planning on hiking Seven Hollows Trail at Petit Jean. If anyone wants to go just let me know. I haven't decided on which day yet but it would have to be Monday to Thursady since I have to work Friday. I have heard alot about the caches on this trail and I think it will be a great hike.

All are welcome!!

Flannelman, I will go with you if you make it a morning hike. I have found the caches on the trail, but it is a good hike and I enjoy it. Please post what time you were planning on and I will be there if possiable.
It may take as long as 4 1/2 hours to complete the trail, depending on how good of shape you are in, maybe less. 3 hours is my best time so you know what kinda shape I am in
It is well worth it, a good place to visit and lots of caches in the area you can make a whole day of it with little effort on Petit Jean.

I was planning on making an early start right around daybreak. It will probably take me a little longer to hike the trail since I'm out of shape but I have wanted to hike this for some time so I'm going even if it takes all day!! Do you have a preference as to which day??

You know, if this is a mid-week hike, I would like to go if you'd have me along, but need a date to plan. Thanks..

This is a mid week hike. I can go Monday March 24th thru Thursday March 27th. Any day is fine for me but if you want me to nail down a day then how bout Tuesday March 25. If that is good for everyone then lets plan on it, if not then we can look at one of the other days.
The start time is also negotiable but the earlier the better.
All are welcome!!

7:30 sounds great to me. BYOB (breakfast) or eat on the way or before you leave home. I'll probably make a day of it by going to lunch after the seven hollows hike and then cache around the area some more. In the event of massive ammounts of snow or rain lets do it the following day. I don't mind a little rain but I don't want to get drenched.

12 gps miles, or a lot further than you want to hike. :!:
About 20 by the road.

Sorry, I didn't get back, My computer got a bug and is seriously ill. I have it on some strong medicine and I hope it is back on its feet in the morning.

Just wanted to bump this back up. It looks like tomorrow is going to be a great day for a hike. It should be cool in the morning but will reach a high of 72. Bring a jacket though since it will be windy. Remember this is open to anyone who wants to go. Cya at the trailhead at 7:30!!

Thanks for coming out for this hike. I had a great time hiking, caching, talking, and photogaphing with you guys. There are a lot of great caches in this area and a lot of great views.
