Worked fine for me too. So how does the work exactly? Are we logging our time for finding bench marks? We can count that as public service while doing a hobby we're all addited too? Sounds fishy to me.

You are "VOLUNTEERING"your time and expertice.
I log the recovered marks to the NGS as well as the Geocaching page,I am the BLM USGS mapper for my area(volunteer).
It states any volunteer activity related to Youth,Parks and Open Spaces,Computers and Technology,Safety and Security. and on and on.
We all do volunteer work and have never logged it any where except in our mind.
This is a chance to do it for the Nation and keep track.
And get a Service award(s) from the President of the United States.
This is an Honor to me I have recieved the ,Bronze,Silver and Gold and am working on the Lifetime.
How many times do you ever get a chance like this,no matter who the President is,it is from the President and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Thanks for joining you do make a difference.

Okay Geo, I have some questions:

    1) who/what do you enter for service activity or organization name?

    2) General area of service should be Parks and Open Spaces....right?

    3) Specific Area of service should be...............................

    4) What do you put in description of service?
Would this do: Search and recover USGS benchmark locations.

    Thanks,

    LE

Yes that way there is a record of what you did,but even that is not mandatory.
I would do it as professional as possible and If you like you can log them at the NGS site.
I do the Traingulation and Historic ones and some of the others to NGS.
Just what you think is best to CYA.
