    Greetings from dcwalker30

Hello Arkansas Geocachers! David Walker here, a.k.a. dcwalker30

A little info about me ... I live in Bryant and work in Little Rock. I'm fairly new to geocaching. I found my first cache in December 2010, but I didn't really get into this addictive hobby until June of this year. Well, the bug bit me! 10 states and almost 200 caches later, here I am! I enjoyed meeting several of you at the C.A.G.E. event, and I look forward to meeting even more of you at Cache Mania in a couple of weeks!

That said, I'm coming up on cache #200 and I'd love to hear your suggestions on a good cache to find to mark the occasion. It will be this Friday, so it would need to be in the greater LR area. I'm also working on putting together a bit of a caching streak. Today marked day 70 in a row that I've found at least one cache. The ultimate goal is to go 365 days in a row with a find. If any of you out there have gone on a long streak, I'd love to hear your pointers and advice on how to keep the streak alive!

    Happy hunting!

Welcome to the game David! I noticed on your FB profile your family is Cards fans too. (I can't believe we lost last night.) We live in Hot Springs & I work in LR as well. We've been missing out on GC events lately, but I'm sure we'll run into you sooner or later. I don't know about Bryant, but GC2AZ5H - Little Rock Upsized Coin and Pin Drop is a great cache, in front of Savoy's house, to use as a milestone.

The best thing I can tell you to keep that kind of a streak going, is don't clear out the area in a 20-30 mile radius of home. No large caching days near home. If you do, you'll find it really hard on those weekdays, late in the streak, when you're getting home late from work, to grab just one cache to keep the streak alive. Keep the weekend bigger cache runs away from home. I've cleared out most caches within a 40 mile radius & I know I couldn't keep any streak going now if I started. Good luck & hope to meet up with you sometime! ~Mike

Hi Mike. Yeah, we are Cards fans! My father-in-law takes the family to a couple games every year in September. That photo was taken one of the two nights we beat the Braves in September ... I think the game that went to extra innings. We had a blast! By they way, if you're ever up there for a game, there's a GREAT cache just outside the stadium. http://coord.info/GC1B9H0

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately (but not in a bad way) I've already found the Upsized Coin and Pin Drop cache. That was a fun one! I'm thinking of possibly going for #200 on Pinnacle or Shinall Mountain. I usually do my caching during lunch though, so I don't know how I feel about hiking Pinnacle in my work clothes, and then returning to work. As far as the streak goes, I'm trying to keep my finds down to 1 or 2 a day so that I don't clear out the area too fast. Living and working in two different cities definitely makes things easier since the commute takes me past several saturated areas. I've worked on making my weekend cache finds in the Benton and NLR areas. My biggest concern is when winter rolls around and I inevitably get snowed in. I've just recently introduced my sister to geocaching, and I think she's going to hide a few in my neighborhood that I can walk to when I'm snowed in. The wife and I are also expecting our 2nd child in January so if anyone wants to hide a cache in the parking lot of Baptist, that would be much appreciated!

First off welcome to our game. I now have over 50 days in a row myself. I have the advantage though of working all over Arkansas, so I just grab one or two or 10 wherever I am that day. As far as your 200th cache there are a lot of good ones in the Jacksonville area. We look forward to meeting you at cache mania.

LOL, snowed in? I sometimes forget "snowed in" means something different in AR.
AR "snowed in" = an inch of snow. Real "snowed in" = a couple feet or more.
I drive a 109 hp Honda Fit ... I get stuck if I park on a piece of chewing gum!

Thanks Willis Clan! See you in Paris!
