    Cache Density Statistics

    Found a neat statistic on the GC.com forums and just thought I'd share it here. As of 11/7/2004, Arkansas is 41st in cache density, with 0.014121319 caches per square mile. The top five states for density were District of Columbia, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut...

    We found 26 caches in DC this summer and every one was a virtual. While they still count as finds, I think there's something missing in the hunt when there's no container.

    Also, when you look at the cache map of Arkansas, most of the caches are north and west of a line from the SW corner to the NE corner of the state. That would basically double the density in the "geo-caching" half of the state and move us up to 27th.
