Climbers rescued on Mount Hood aided by treasure hunt box

I was reading my e-mail this morning and took notice of a news article listed in my weekly notification e-mail from GC.com.

It was a story about the two climbers recently rescued on Mt. Hood. It appears that rescuers were able to find them after the climbers happened to find a geocache that had the GPS coords inside it and the climbers were able to use their cell phones to give authorities their coords from the cache.

    What a story.

Here is a link for the story online:

This is a GREAT story! I had heard about the climbers being rescued on Mt. Hood, but I didn't know about the tie to geocaching. Thanks for sharing it with us, p1t! -- ORR

What a way to start geocaching, that is an awesome story, thanks paris1time for sharing this with everyone, putting the coords in the container is something I can't remember ever doing, sounds like a good practice in some parts of the world

I did some looking on the GC.com site to see if I could find the cache that helped aid in their rescue but did not find one I could say was it for sure. I wonder which cache it was.

p1t, I deleted the ':' and the characters that followed it over to the ']' at both the beginning and the end of your stats code and the above is what I got.

Make sure that HTML and BBCode are both turned on in your profile.

    Have a nice day.

I just did some searching and apparently this one was the cache.
