Looks like a neat unit. They probably have a winner, combining the GPS with paperless caching like they did.
I found their Flash ad for the unit annoying, however.
Quite a machine. Maybe next buy?? Try this review?? http://www.gpsmagazine.com/2008/01/garm ... review.php.
Also, Geocaching.com has a new feature called "Field Notes" that is supported on the Colorado. Anyone know anything more about this?

I haven't heard a good review from a geocacher about this unit yet. I'm anxious for someone to get it so we can hear more about it from a geocacher's perspective.
Why don't you all pitch in and buy it for me and I will do a full review!
Darrelw4 of the Cache-a-maniacs podcast pre-ordered the top-of-the line model and although he said he loved the potential, it had too many lock-ups and it lacked some of the basic features of his 60csx. Its not compatible with programs like GSAK. The paperless functions interfere with the geocaching functions. Darrell ended up returning his unit and getting another 60csx. He feels that all of the problems can be fixed via software, so he thinks eventually this will be a great unit once all the bugs are worked out. Rumor has it that Garmin did a "quiet recall" of all units still on the shelves at retailers so that they could do a kernel replacement.
I bet they'll have it fixed in the next few months... then hopefully they'll get the price down some more!
Great post. Likely that Garmin will refine things. The online prices are consistently $600. Hopefully this will fall with time..
Yeah, never buy v1.0 of anything! But I sure like the direction things are going in!
I too have not heard much positive about the Colorado, although I believe one of our NWA cachers has one.
The good news is that Garmin's customer support is awesome. If there are problems with a Garmin unit, you can rest assured it'll be fixed.
