Image tags
Is it possible to insert image tags in our signature? Example is what I have inserted below as part of this post:
http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img....g=1]My%20stats
If you are waiting on me, you are backing up!!
When I inserted the HTML for the above tag in my signature and checked attach signature in a post, only the HTML code itself is inserted, not the image tag. Below is what is attached as the signature:

Image Tags in Sigs
I think the image tags in the sigs will have to be BBCode.
Something like this

-
Longdogs that did not work how about mine.
-
Well that did not work what about if I put it here [img/]http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img.aspx?txt=View+my+profile&uid=5759fd69-99fa-4ec4-b6b4-[img/]
-
ARRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!! well I guess we can keep trying [img]http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img.aspx?txt=View+my+profile&uid=5759fd69-99fa-4ec4-b6b4-[img]

NUTS THIS IS GETTING AAAAARGGGGG!!!

BBCode
In BBCode the first [img] should not have a / in it, and the last one should have the / right after the opening brace, like this.[/img]
What is in between should be the URL.
Also be sure you don't have disable BBCode set.
-
OK i've tried everything I can think of and no go I would like to be able to do this also.
-
Sig Test
This is a sig test.
Also be sure you check this box:
Attach signature (signatures can be changed in profile)
-
No images in sigs
Ok, I did some checking, and images are permitted in signatures via BBCode, but not using html.
In fact, anywhere in the forums the only HTML codes allowed are things like bold, italic, and underline, and some other formatting codes. You must use BBCode for links or images.
Also, when you change your signature, it changes it everywhere, in all the forums and in every message to which you've ever attached it. (Regardless of what your sig was at the time you posted the original message, it becomes your new sig.)
This is because it doesn't actually save the content of your sig with the message, but just sets an on/off switch saying wether or not to show the sig on this message. Your sig actually only exists in one place in the system.

How do I rewrite the code listed in my signature below in BBCode so the image tag will show in the signature line?
As you can see, the tag appears if the code is in the message text. Using this same code for my signature in my profile only lists the code as the signature in messages where the attach signature box is checked.
http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img....g=1]My%20stats
If you are waiting on me, you are backing up!!
-
This should work:
http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img....g=1&My%20stats
You've got to watch out for extra [ and ] chars in the URL.
-
LongDogs:
When I copied and pasted your suggested code into my signature it still did not appear as an image tag in the signature of my message. If I copied and pasted it into message text it did come out as a image tag.
What am I doing wrong?
-
Guys - this was a very annoying and tricky problem for us on our website. You have to get your syntax exactly right or it won't work. It's so tricky that I had to relearn how to do it the last time I had to show somebody.
I'll post the syntax (I hope) later - I have a few things to do, been out of town caching and all...

Ok, to get your userid - use this:
http://www.ikrug.com/geostats/statgenerator.php
Then type this:
http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img....9-291a95ebf37b
Use your user-id instead of mine, of course (It's the stuff after the = sign)

I am backing up
Motex outlaw how do you do it?

Geo,
If you notice the signature in your previous post appears as a hot link. When I clicked on that it linked me to your stats button.
I don't know what has changed but my stats button is now displayed in my signature.
The code that is my signature profile is:
Where the info within the image brackets came from, I don't know. What I did did was copy the code that I was using as my signature on the Texas Geocaching Web page forum. The first copy and pastes did not have the data within the img brackets and would not display my stats button in the signature. How that info got in my code later: I don't know. But it works!!
-
AM I THERE YET?
1 FOR THE GIPPER
I TRIED AND IT STILL WON'T LINK.
I WILL TRY LATER.
-
Testing to see if I can get mine working.
-
Lets see if this works for me.
-
Ruffrider can you post the code you used I can not get mine to work I've tried everything. HELP!!!!
-
Codes still wrong
The starting code is [img]
the ending code adds a slash, just like html [/img]
If you mess up any part of the code, it won't display as an image.
-
I can see yours, so you must have got it working. But if anybody else wants to know, here is the exact code I used:
http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img....Geocacher&bg=2
You'll have to change the uid in two places, since I set it up so that if you click on it, it takes you to my profile page. Also, if you change the bg=2 to bg=1, it will show the Geocaching logo instead of the frog.

You have to be very exact. This is what I did and it worked for me (Yes, this is the same post but some people go straight to the last page of a thread):
Ok, to get your userid - use this:
http://www.ikrug.com/geostats/statgenerator.php
Then type this:
http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img....9-291a95ebf37b
Use your user-id instead of mine, of course (It's the stuff after the = sign)
The first bit, [URL=Http://......] makes a link to geocaching.com. The second bit, [img]http://www.geocaching......] shows the image based on your user id. That's all there is to it.

Help! You're dealing with a bunch of dummies here!
-
Not only that I don't know the diference between BBCcde , HTML and pig latin........poppy
-
I changed nothing about the code to get this to work. I stupidly tried to get the stats banner to work for my avatar..... no cigar  ...but I did succeed in screwing up the avatar photo. Then I could not find it :?: .....Soooooo I up loaded it again. ...guess what, the stats banner works now  .......Beats me :D :D :D ....poppy
-
One more try tonight - then I'm throwing a brick at the computer!
-
I finally got it by copy and pasting the exact code from southdeltans post on page two. Then I inserted the correct id number good luck...poppy
-
Jus trying to get mine in my signature.
-
I just can't seem to get mine to work. What am I doing wrong?
-
Well mine is working now and I did not even do anything to it. I was working on putting an avatar on and noticed that it was working now. When I checked the code I noticed that mine did the same thing as MOTEXOUTLAWS's and now has some extra numbers within the image brackets that I did not put there. At least it works now.
-
Cachecrazies, Cut and paste this:
http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img....357255d99&bg=1
It's not exactly the same as what you have, I think you have an extra character in there so it's breaking the link (you have a ' at the end I think).
I haven't figured out why sometimes you can put the correct code in and it doesn't work immediately, but sometimes you can put the right stuff in and later it'll work. YOu might try logging out then logging back in.

OK - copied, pasted and let's try it!
