A week before the This 1Time in Paris... Event (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=a0e04ae1-ec93-4474-9310-038685f765a2) there was an article in the Paris Express about the event and geocaching in general. I found out this week that the article was also ran in the Booneville Democrat.

In my opinion the article was not really clear on what geocaching is. The writer of the article focused primarily on the event that my wife and I were hosting, but it has caused many to ask me to tell them more about geocaching.

Here is a link to the article on the Booneville Democrat website: Geocaching Event Set For Paris Saturday (http://www.boonevilledemocrat.com/articles/2007/01/10/news/news4.txt)
*The site only shows a portion of the article published in the paper

On another note...

I forgot to mention in my OP that a member of the Booneville Rotary Club contacted me a week ago after seeing the article and asked me to speak at their Rotary meeting to explain geocaching. I spoke to them yesterday. I took some brochures, a stocked ammo can (one made by cachemates), a printout of a cache listing, and some photos from our adventures to help explain everything.

I had many come up to many after the meeting and even had one to call me to tell me how interesting the sport sounded to them. There was one member there that will be writing an article for a local newsletter.

StrwbrySweetie is the only cacher I know of from the Booneville area. She was given a stocked ammo can that beerhog won at the Paris event last week. She plans on placing the cache in the Booneville area.

I hope the coverage in the Booneville area and StrwbrySweetie will help get more people in the Booneville area involved in the sport.
