I am coordinating this year's GeoWoodstock4 World Record Cache Run attempt.

Any Arkgeocachers that want to participate either as suppport and planning team or as competitors are welcome to register in my forum set up for this purpose at http://s3.phpbbforfree.com/forums/gw4run.html.

Please don't sign in to that site unless you are dedicated and serious! There are other places to talk about whether you like this or don't, wish you could but can't, or whatever!

This is the GW4 attempt to beat GeoPirat and Huskie's GW3 record of 262 caches in 24 hours in Jacksonville Fl last year.

Details of the event itself are found at http://www.geowoodstock4.com

GeoPirat will be back, along with three other Germans, and so far it looks like four teams will compete.

The Guinness Records folks are considering having representatives ride with us.

This is serious hard-core speed caching - the biggest complaint last year was an 18 minute stop at Hardees!

We will likely make the run on the weekend before the event, stay all week and try for 1000 caches the week before the event.

Y'all come, but no whining allowed!

How are the teams setup?
Who does what?
Is there a link to the rules?

So far nothing is written in stone, Tech_Guy, that's all part of what we'll be figuring out on the forum!

Some, like the German team, will rent a 7-passenger van, others will drive their personal cars.

We'll get a listing of all caches in the area and weed out the time consuming stuff - on a run like this you cherry-pick the fast easy ones.

I can't see any point in limiting the number or size of teams - anyone can try!

We'll then communicate with the owners of the selected caches to assure that they check on them in the week or days before the run to minimize DNFs due to missing caches.

Once we have a target database we'll plan a route that takes us through, avoiding the traffic, construction and so forth.

Each team will be provided the same information, though caches and route chosen will be up to each team.

WooHoo!

TeamOne is now complete with the addition of Nonnipoppy as Navigator!

His commitment forms us into a well-rounded team. Being the only one familiar with all the personalities involved I am vey excited - we may not win but by golly we'll have a good time trying!

7 strangers packed in a van for 24-hours of intensity is an event one never forgets! This will be my 6th run of this nature (4 24-hr. and 1 36-hr) and each time the strangers I climbed in the van with have remained close friends!

Remember that this is just one team - any of you are encouraged to form your own and come play! Sign up at http://www.geowoodstock4.com.

After the world record attempt the Saturday and Sunday before GW4, a group of us have a 12-passenger van rented and will cache Monday-Friday, not as a team or competition but just for fun, and will try to find 1000 caches during the week!

Anyone is welcome to join us during that week.
