TX Geocaching Challenge

Hi folks,
Has anyone attended the TX Challenge? If one doesn't join a group for the challenge is it still worth the trip? This year in Lubbock.

We went last year but didn't compete. Found out quick since we weren't competitors there wasn't really anything else to do. Only one booth set up for supply sales and a trackable area. Again can't speak about the competition aspect as we didn't compete, but we probably won't make it to Lubbock. I think idratherbehiking has competed before, you may shoot him a message as I don't see him on the forums much anymore.
