We just recently returned from MOGA. It was in Iowa this year. We met CFD29 in Altoona, Iowa and had a ball chasing them across 7 states. Got to visit a Wisconsin cheese factory and the John Deere Commons in Moline, Illinois and drove through several Amish communities...man those horses and buggies really move on the highways. 3491 miles, 224 caches including 10 virtuals: Our two favorite virtuals were the Buddy Holly Crash site in an Iowa cornfield and the American Gothic house from the Grant Wood painting, 7 earthcaches: especially liked the Halfway to the Pole earthcache in Wisconsin, 9 States (6 new geostates). MOGA was so much fun even though we couldn't do the challenge caches on the trails. But they placed new caches on all the roads leading to MOGA....more than we could possibly do. The event was amazingly well organized. Lots of satellite events...including a sock hop and live music which was a hoot. Sunday afternoon late we got to talk with the staff and hear their stories of the planning that went into this experience. The event geocoin was a 3" jukebox with a spinner and the spinner was a pathtag. Everyone was friendly and fun and the sceney in the north country was amazing. All the fields and farms...just like a Grandma Moses painting. Got to meet a lot of cachers from other states and even Canada. Honey Creek State Park facilities and resort were beautiful and perfect for this event.

Tell us about your MOGA experience.
