To celebrate one of the Bates Gang's Birthdays they are hosting a Geocaching Event in Chase Bates honor. This is one of his favorite things to do with his family. So lets celebrate a decade of Chase Bates. In order to count this as an event you will have to sign Chase's giant birthday card! There will be a fishing derby, frisby golf tournament, potato sack races and much more fun

Are you planning on attending any of these events? Or planning one of your own?

Good afternoon everyone!! We are from Texarkana and new to Geocaching, but have become so addicted to it that we are putting on our first event April 30th for the Cache In Trash Out Day. I see alot that has to be approved by geocaching.com, so we're slow to post stuff, but we are super excited about what is to come. Maybe I went over the top a little after looking at other CITO events, but hopefully we'll have a great turnout anyway. We are actually getting our event sponsored by a pretty big company in town, and if it all is confirmed by tomorrow the way I want it to be, we will be providing lunch, t-shirts to all who attend, a bag of goodies for caching, such as water, gloves, trash bags, first aid kits, etc. a small souvenior/keepsake. Are there any meetings, geocachers, or events down this way that anyone else knows of?

Sounds great momofplenty. Been a while since there has been an event in Texarkana. If I remember right, the GeoMaze is in T-Town right now too, so it would be a great time for cachers to come down and participate in the CITO then go over to the museum to see the maze.
