The Arkansas 10,000 Club

Congratulations, Arkansas!!!!! You now have over 10,000 active caches....10,004 to be exact as of 4:17 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2011.

Now for some useless trivia.....if you aren't into that, quit reading and go look at another forum thread.

The first and only cache placed in Arkansas in the year 2000 was Gorilla Stash, placed June 27, 2000. Since then, as of January 3, 2011, there have been 15,339 caches published in Arkansas PLUS the 140 that we know about published in January...to date, which brings the total to 15,479.

Arkansas only had 1275 active caches on December 31, 2005:

2005 - 652
2006 - 1 (an event cache).

Now you know more than you wanted to know. By the way rklmbl found 7625 of those 15,479 caches...not quite half. We have a lot of work to do.........time to go caching...................see ya on the trails.

We have been watching the numbers add up and knew Arkansas was close to breaking 10,000 active caches. Congrats to everyone who has placed caches!

WOW! ! ! Unbelievable at best! Thank you, rklmbl, for sharing this information with your fellow cachers! As with you, we have to go get busy, because we don't have nearly as many finds as you guys and we got a later start. LOL
