Hello all, I am new to geocaching but really enjoying it. I am considering purchasing the Magellan Explorist GC and was wondering if any who own or have used one could comment. Thanks!

We've got it and are very pleased. It's sells for a good price and not once has it led us to the wrong spot. When hiking through the woods, you can turn on tracking so that you can find your way back. It's got a decent lifetime on a fresh charge of batteries and is fully submersible (Which has saved us twice now)

The only thing I've noticed about it is that it's a bit underpowered, but that's not a problem if you turn off the "Smart Arrow" feature. I'd buy it again if we needed another one, no doubt.

I just bought one myself and at first it gave me fits. I couldn't get the back off and back on easily but now I have that figured out. The price is good. It was referred to me by a friend who has done a lot of caching. I would recommend downloading GSAK though. I found it very user friendly.:D
