We will be going on a week long hiking/floating trip around the Pruitt area of the Buffalo this spring. Anyone have ideas of good trails, caves, ect (and of course caches) for us to check out? Most of the people going have been before so we are looking for some of the perhaps lesser known areas to explore. Thanks!

Hey Justin, Good to see you on here and caching again. While it is not exactly on the Buffalo River it is close, Lost Valley is one of those must see places. At Ponca.

The waterfall at Hemmed-in Hollow (between Ponca and Kyle Landing) is a great place to see. I've canoed to it several times and once I hiked up river from Kyle Landing with some Scouts. What a fun trip :D

Forest service has two new maps on the upper Buffalo wilderness with descriptions of nice hikes (Hawksbill). I saw these at Ozark Outdoor supply in LRA, but I'm sure any NFS office will have them. Try this site:http://theozarkmountains.com/hiking_trails.htm
