Many people, after seeing mention of it on the geocacher bingo card at the Clarksville event were asking "what's an A.P.E. cache".

I was wrong about the ones in Chicago and Australia still being active. The only ones still active are in Sao Paolo Brazil and near Seattle Washington. The other 11 have gone to cache heaven.

Here is the Markwell link to Project A.P.E. Project A.P.E. Caches (http://www.markwell.us/projectape.htm)

So the big question is, had anyone at the event ever found one?

I have not met anyone who has found one but......

If anyone would like to pay for my plane ticket. I will volunteer to go find it so that someone will be able to sign that square on the BINGO board.

I'm hoping to the the chance next year to find the only active Project A.P.E. cache still active in the United States. There are only two active, one in WA state and the other in Brazil.

There is a Project Monkey cache that was hidden in Bell Buckle, TN that I found during GeoWoodstock 7.

I'm probably the closest guy to the 'other' APE cache... I'm planning a trip this summer to go collect it. Its about a 6 hour trip out of Rio (the way I'm planning it anyway).
I'll let you know how it goes! :) - Savoy
