mapping software questions

i have a Garmin Etrex Legend C. (not Cx)
having just moved to AR from CO , i have a lot of CO topo maps in my garmin that i obviously dont need anymore.
does anyone know how to delete those maps?
or, if i buy new AR maps for it, does the new data 'overwrite' the old data when i load it?

Hi, Ron. We use and old version of Garmin's MapSource software to manage the maps on our eTrex. It's been a while since we had to change our maps, but as I recall, when you get ready to upload new maps, MapSource lets you choose which maps you want. If there are currently maps on your eTrex, they will be overwritten by the new maps you choose...
